Joshua Yang combines his experience as a farmer and a chocolatier into a lifetime passion for crafting small-batch Kava root, grown on his own farm. His dedication to cacao and Kava is unique, and we adore his storytelling and education on the history of the land in and around his farm in Hawaii. In addition to his chocolates, he produces these high potency Kava Drops as a plant medicine for relief from stress, and to help with sleep.

About Kava: Kava has long been used in religious ceremonies in the South Pacific, but in recent years, it’s also become popular in the United States, where “kava bars” serve it instead of (or alongside) coffee and tea. It’s often mixed with water or coconut milk and traditionally served cold. Traditionally, Pacific Islanders crushed, chewed, and ground the root and stump of the shrub, then soaked it in cold water to produce a drink for ceremonies and cultural practices. These rituals were said to strengthen ties among groups, reaffirm status, and help people communicate with spirits.

Intention:   These Kava Drops are intended to be taken to calm the nerves, reduce anxiety, and may be of assistance to help with falling asleep.

Dosage:   Take 1/2 Dropperful when feeling anxious during the day and or 30 minutes before bedtime to aid in relaxing for a restful sleep.

Ingredients:  Kava root. Freshly dried, pulverized, and extracted with 190 proof alcohol from organic cane sugar which is reduced in volume by 20% by gentle evaporation and then cut by 20% with vegetable glycerine.

Caution:

Kava may interact with the following:

Anticonvulsants. Kava may increase the effects of medications, such as phenytoin (Dilantin), that are used to treat seizures.

Alcohol. DO NOT use kava and alcohol together. The risk of impairment and the potential risk of liver toxity are greatly increased.
