From our friends upstate, Turkey Tail (trametes versicolor) is one of the most common mushrooms in the northeast growing on logs throughout all seasons. Traditionally used to fight inflammation and infection in upper respiratory, digestive and urinary tracts, as well as to increase stamina and benefit people with hepatitis B. This is one of the only mushrooms tested and proven for its beneficial effects on cancer treatments. It is healthy for the stomach, lungs, liver, prostate, esophagus, uterus, ovary, cervix, breast, rectum. Some studies found activity against HIV and herpes. This potent triple-extracted tincture is produced under the stewardship of John Michelotti, a highly respected herbalist and forager from upstate New York.
