Flower essences are a type of plant and vibrational medicine that assist us on emotional, physical, and spiritual levels, often resulting in shifts in consciousness. Balance is the operative state to encourage healing and maintain wellness. Cosmic balance means being in alignment not only with ourselves, but with each other and our Earth. Healing Justice emphasizes an intersectional and holistic response to trauma, and encourages collective practices for transformation.
In this series, we will explore how the concept of cosmic balance, along with applying a healing justice framework to flower essence therapy, can bring about powerful individual and collective healing.

How to Apply a Healing Justice Framework to Flower Essence Therapy
How to Heal Ourselves, Each Other, and The Earth
In this class, you’ll learn what flower essences are, how they work, a brief decolonized history of flower essence therapy, and the basics of selecting and applying flower essences.
Flower essences are a type of plant and vibrational medicine that are catalysts of change for greater balance and healing. Flower essences work on subtle energetic pathways that can bring about shifts on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. To fully grasp how flower essences (and plant and vibrational medicine) work, it is necessary to open one’s mind to a multidimensional and interconnected process.
In this class, we will look at balance in a cosmic context—not only as a precipitator for optimal health, but also for collective transformation. We will address what balanced energetics look like, some of the common energetics of imbalance (e.g., anxiety and depression), and where we have the opportunity to access greater healing potentials with the help of the flowers.
Balance is the optimal state in which to encourage healing and maintain wellness. Balance within a cosmic context goes beyond the level of the self, and includes being in alignment with our environment—with each other and the Earth, on quantum levels. The paradigm shift from masculine (sun times) to feminine (moon times) has been underway for some time, and flower essences aid us in this transition to a more balanced state of being.
In this class we will learn ways to bring aspects of a healing justice framework to every part of flower essence therapy from responsible wildcrafting, to formulation, selection, application, and community healing.
Plant medicine has always been the people’s medicine, and flower essences create unique opportunities to bring more inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity into this mode of healing. In the words of Cara Page, a founding member of Kindred Southern Healing Justice Collective, healing justice “identifies how we can holistically respond to and intervene on generational trauma and violence, and to bring collective practices that can impact and transform the consequences of oppression on our bodies, hearts, and minds.”
In this class, you will learn how to responsibly wildcraft your own flower medicine and create your own flower essence rituals. You will learn more about the roles safety, protection, and psychic hygiene can have in your flower essence healing work. We will also discuss healing justice flower essence allies.
Responsible wildcrafting is not only an empowering practice, but also an invitation to be in co-creation with the plant kingdom. Bringing our ancestries, prayer, and ritual into the formulation and application processes becomes part of the vibrational signature of our medicine, and plays a role in its potential to heal. Flower essences attract many sensitive beings and it’s good practice to consider safety, protection, and psychic hygiene in one’s rituals.
